"In my paintings and in my work, I am most interested in visiting the past, borrowing from it, and blurring the line between yesterday and today. Throughout my childhood and for most of my life, the stories that my Grandmother told me about her childhood in Fall River, Massachusetts during The Great Depression have captured my imagination. I'm always chasing after remembered moments and places in time, and the objects, styles, fashion and architecture from the early part of the 20th century fascinate me. I'm continually trying to understand the past and capture it within the medium of paint, to present my personal vision of the beauty of it all on canvas. My work often includes architectural buildings and cityscapes, and through the use of expressive color, I present the structures as things of beauty, and as the light and atmosphere change them, they become like a canvas covered in paint."
